Original field-use gravestones were used as lit beacons to distract the Japanese from what the Americans were actually doing. They operated by placing lanterns on the victim's skull, burying the victim, leaving a hole just large enough for the light to come through, giving the impression, to the untrained eye, that a smurf village lay there.

Ahh yes, the in-class assignments. I'm so happy my Lit teacher doesn't believe in writing us to death. Then again, that is what the composition classes are for...
